So my friend decided to update the bios to his G53S using a NTFS formated flash drive, instead of FAT-32. After updating the bios the laptop shut down and will not power on again. No power light, nothing, the thing is completely bricked.
As far as I know the only thing left to do now is to flash the BIOS manually, or replace the BIOS chip on the mobo. Can anyone lead me in the direction of some documentation, or simply the name of the bios chip used on this board? I don't wanna pull the wrong one.
The Laptop is out of warranty and I don't think he wants to spend more than $100 to fix it.
It's K53SV rev 2.3
I have some pictures of the front of the motherboard.
there are some more pictures of the backside if you guys need them.
Thanks for your time!
