Will the Corsair CX430 fit in my case and run the HD 7850?

Hey, Mike2012 here. I have a pretty small case.

The case is identical to this one.

Now, I'm no expert on rulers and stuff. But I measured my power supply and the actual power supply, not including cables was about 3.4"x5.5"(HxW) I think.

This is the power supply I'm trying to get... The Corsair CX430.

So does anyone with more knowledge of HP power supplies, know the official diameters?

Also, do you think this power supply will fit in my case?

And will it be able to power an HD 7850 2GB?

1) Yes, the power supply will fit. You'll have to do some serious cable management tho to keep the cables clear of the cpu cooler.

2) 7850 power requirements:

http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7850/Pages/radeon-7850.aspx#/2

" 500W (or greater) power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended "

" 600W power supply (or greater) with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors recommended for AMD CrossFire™ technology. "

NOt sure if it will fit. The COrsair website or newegg.com have the measurements of the PSU. Check for space.

That said, as far as powering goes... depends on the rest of your system and if you plan on overclocking it or not. If you dont plan on overclocking a lot, it will absolutely run it (I dont care what AMD says, they ALWAYS overestimate by a fair amount to cover crap PSU's).

7850 = 130W stock + 20% for overclocking is ~155W at MOST.
CPU = (worst case, you dont list the remainder of your specs) 125W + 75W overclocking. Thats 355W at MAX with both CPU and GPU overclocked heavily both running at 100% (not a realistic load unless you F@H for example).

At stock, absolutely.

This is the replacement PSU used in a majority of the P6's including OP's. It is a standard atx psu so the CX should be no issue, the only place he will run into issues is cable management...

As I said you may want to consider that CX430 modular since its only $5 more, although if you are confident enough with your CM skills the CX500 is the much better deal of the 3 and it allows for more OC headroom :D
