I hate to admit it, but I have no experience with SSDs. I somewhat inherited a Corsair Extreme X32 (32GB drive). I want to use it for XP Benching, and I always want to know how to optimize it for Benching purposes.
just use it, I just did the same thing, installed xp on an older SSD because it just goes faster. you dont want XP on a drive long term though, no TRIM, or NCQ.
TRIM deals with wear leveling on a SSD. NCQ = Native Command Queing. NCQ allows native sata commands to be sent to the drive increasing speed. Without these it would be like using an older UDMA HDD and only running it in PIO-Mode. XP doesnt support either feature out of the box.
