Power surge, protector

Hello, I need advice on a good reliable power surge, protector.

Needs to have 8+ sockets. Will be using it to power 2 PCs, 2 monitors, TV, game console, various charger plugs, modem, plus random junk.

I have had only one but you might want to look at this

My surge suppressor / UPS vendor of choice is APC. This is what I've been buying lately.

That being said, I know I'm fairly ignorant about them. I'm more or less blindly trusting the APC brand, and the overall quality of the unit.

Destructive surges can be hundreds of thousands of joules. If located adjacent to electronics, the protector can only block or absorb that energy. How many joules does it claim to absorb? Hundreds?

Any useful answer requires the manufacturer spec numbers. What numbers are in its specs for Surge Protection?

Two completely different devices are both called surge protectors. Apparently you want the one located adjacent to appliances. That can only work by blocking or absorbing the surge. So, how many joules will it absorb?

Maybe consider a different device with a same name. The only solution always implemented in any facility that cannot have damage.
