Sorry this has been posted a million times, but I can't figure this out.

Trying to change ram frequency from 1333 to 1600.

Win 7
Mobo: Gigabyte h77n-wifi
CPU: i5 3470
Ram: Cosair Vengeance 2x4gb
Bios: UEFI

Cpu-z
5nF6298.jpg xNSaJfh.jpg

In Bios:
On auto
XMP is > disabled
System Memory Multiplier 13.33 > Auto
Memory Frequency 1333MHz > greyed out 1333MHz
DRAM Timing 9, 9, 9, 24 > Auto
Volt 1.5V

On XMP Profile 1
System Memory Multiplier 16.00 > Auto
Memory frequency 1333MHz > greyed out 1600MHz

I can't change the frequency because it's greyed out.

i'm pretty sure the h77 chipset does not allow overclocking of any type, of either the ram or cpu. someone with an h77 chipset mb might be able to give you some way to set it... not sure really; looking it up now.

--EDIT--

looking at the MB manual now... this might seem like a dumb question, but...

if you turn off the XMP setting in your bios.
then change the memory multiplier setting from AUTO to Manual, and set it to x16; your ram should be operating at 1600 I think.
then set the DRAM Timing Selectable to Expert

~now you should be able to tinker with your ram timings and voltages i think.

If the bios doesn't let you do even that much, then you're boned by the chipset. if you can get that far you should be able to change a few more ram timing settings and voltages to get your ram stable at its new speed.

WOW my math is off.

Rechecking now, seems about right. Guess it's my bios that keeps posting as 1300.

Anways thanks.
