I'm looking for a GPU for the following build (I'm from europe). I will be going SLI/crossfire within a year! I'm a hardcore gamer so aiming for 120+fps on high settings for games like bf3 (bf4), cs go, sc2 on a resolution of 1920*1080, I will be using only 1 monitor!
Budget: 400 euro

Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster SA700D (120hz)
Mobo: MSI Z77A-GD55
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
RAM: Ballistix Sport VLP 8GB DDR3 1600
PSU: Seasonic P-860

Kind regards!

I can choose form the following, if none of these are good I will look for them in a different shop and post them here!

Asus Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, DirectCU II € 439,00
Asus Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, DirectCU II TOP € 482,00
Club 3D Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, RoyalAce € 456,00
Sapphire Radeon HD 7970, 6144MB, GHz Edition € 619,00 (This is quite a lot above my budget though)
Sapphire Radeon HD7970, 3072MB € 400,00
Sapphire Radeon HD7970, 3072MB, OC € 416,00
XFX Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, 1000M, BlackEdition DD € 410,00
XFX Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, 1050M, DD € 419,00
XFX Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, 925M, DD 24 € 381,00

i would try club 3d, but thats my opinion.

if you do get club 3d though, tell me how well it works. im really looking forward to buying one of their cards later on in the future if they ever come to the US.

Either of these would be my choice.

Sapphire Radeon HD7970, 3072MB € 400,00

Asus Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, DirectCU II € 439,00

I've found a phew more versions would appreciate opinions on these as well

Club 3D Radeon HD 7970 royalAce Tahiti XT2
Club 3D Radeon HD 7970 royalQueen
Gigabyte GV-R797OC-3GD
Gigabyte GV-R797TO-3GD

I also noticed that not even one person recommended a gtx for a single monitor setup, have I misunderstood something because as far as I knew hd 7970 where best for multiple monitors and gtz 670/680 for a single monitor

7970>670 in most cases. But the prices are more comparable. 680s are good but when you can get a 7970 for a good deal cheaper then there's little reason to grab a 680 IMO. If you want to x fire or sli later. Get a dual slot card. Just for ease of us. The Asus models are triple slot for 680/7970s Cept that one 4gb 680 dual slot expensive one lol

Ok so far I've been recommended the following, I would like to ask if what has been recommended has legit reasoning and I would like the reasoning behind a recommendation without an explanation

Recommended with explanation:

* XFX Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, 925M, DD with an Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 7970 - Someone recommended this to me as it would outperform any other card after ocing

* Asus Radeon HD 7970, 3072MB, DirectCU II TOP - Best card if you're not ocing

* Don't touch club3d cards as they break fairly often - Heard this from multiple people

* Gigabyte GV-R797TO-3GD - It's a GHz version so it's better for ocing

And last without an explanation

* Sapphire Radeon HD7970, 3072MB

Could you explain that? IIRC TOP cards are binned higher than the standard ones.

And Gigabyte cards are known for locking voltage. No good for OCing even if it's GE.

That's what I've been tolled so far I guess it wasn't true :(,
I have no clue about GPU's so that's why I keep asking for info and explanations
