i have a question...
Is there a way to modify a motherboard's compatibility chart to allow different RAM and CPU than the one they are suppose to.
example: the motherboard has a AMD athalon x64 and i want it to use a AMD turion x64. its the same socket and same generation. is there a way to do that?

RAM will work as long as the chipset supports that generation, speed and voltage (f.ex., if your chipset supports DDR3 1.5v 1600MHz, it will work with most DDR3 1.5v 1600MHz sticks).

Regarding the Turion and Athlon, if you mean 754 processors, they usually work.

the original ram was a ddr2 666 and the one im trying to install is a 800mhz.
i already tried changing the CPU but it wont boot if i use the turion. i check and yes it is the equivalent to the Athlon.

does the motherboard bios support that cpu?
check the manufactures web site for that info.
a simple bios update might be required.
