looking for a cheap NAS solution. was looking at simple adapters you can plug into router and hook up a USB thumb drive to. they seem to be around $50 but the few reviews on each are not very good.

anyone have any experience with these or some other good suggestions?
here is what i was looking at

What router do you have? I know my Asus RT-n56u allows me to plug any USB device (not a NAS, just a thumb drive) into it and it will share the device across my network. If your router has a USB port, I would imagine it has a similar feature?

Currently using a TP Link router with an 8gb stick. Works great, but hoping for a router with USB3 real soon. That would make it worthwhile as a common backup drive and for file storage.

One thing I read regarding USB 3.0 and wireless routers... USB 3.0 will often cause interference with the wireless connections, so it may not even be beneficial to go with it. Could be a limited issue, but definitely something to look into before you buy.
