Does that mean the memory is bad? I have never heard of that happening before. I have had 8gb for 2 years and bought 8 more, exact same stuff. First 8 was in slots 1 & 3 put the 2 new ones in 2 & 4.
 
Well that was odd. Removed the old memory and put the new sticks in slots 1&3, ran windows memory diagnostics and there were no errors. Put the old two sticks in 2&4, it hiccuped and rebooted mid boot once but then booted fine, ran the memory diagnostic again with no errors. I guess maybe I didn't have them seated correctly or something?
