This was all over the web today. LSI, which acquired Sandforce (last year IIRC), is introducing a new controller to replace the Sandforce 22** series. Major improvements will be onboard the new chip and partners are lined up to test/integrate/produce new products for both SATA and PCIe based storage applications next year. Notebook, enterprise, consumers, yes, come one, come all. Next year should be very interesting for storage:
