I will be starting with one R9 290, but don't want to be shortchanged by lane issues when I get the second because I am running at 5760 x 1080.

With the 4670, overclocking is important to me and I am going to reuse my Noctua NH-C12P SE14 Cooler (http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=compatibility_gen&products_id=35&lng=en).

I'm going to be using MSY as a supplier (http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf) mainly because of price.

Would love some ideas for a good board given what I want to do and my desire to overclock.

Hey Jethro and :welcome: to OCForums

I just bought the ASRock extreme4 because it is inexpensive and is supposed to be a pretty good overclocking board. To be honest, I've been running stock for the past few weeks since I've bought the CPU, mobo, RAM combo.

I've also read good things about the extreme6 as well as several of the Asus Z87 basic models.

The main thing to consider with those various models is how many sata ports (2 & 3) do you need and how many 16x PCIe slots do you need (xfire or sli).

There are lots of reviews out there on those Z87 boards in the list. You just need to read up on them and see which one fits your needs the best. Just make sure the one you select has two PCI-E slots that will run at least x8/x8 when two cards are installed. You can go to the manufactures website and download the manual too, reading those can be a big help also.
