Constant HD Activity on AK35GTR

Im having a constant flash on my HD traffic light. Im new to RAID, this is my first RAID set up, is this normal? It blinks in 3 second intervals. Not just a dull flicker, its a good bright hit. Please let me know what you think it may be.

AK35 with Maxtor

Seems if you plug a Maxtor into the raid channels on the AK35, even if not using a raid array, the hdd led stays pretty active. I have the same setup and have seen another post about this issue. It doesn't cause any problems.
