Audigy Installation and Win XP

I'm all set to build my new system w/ the Asus P4T-E and a 2.0 northie and have a quesiton about installing the new audity platinum card. My question is this: On the creative website they posted audigy drivers for WinXP, and I have downloaded them. But w/ the card came the installation CD with the drivers and all the software and I want to be able to use the software that came w/ the card. Ok, here is my questions. If I install the software from the cd and then install the downloaded drivers will the sound card still work? The reason I am asking this is because with my old soundblaster live card (before the 5.1's were around) I installed the drivers from the CD and then updated them with the liveware, and nothing worked (I was running 2000 at the time). After talking to creative, I found out that you can not install any of the drivers from the CD and then install the live ware, you have to only install the liveware and thus don't get to use any of the software that came w/ the card.

If anyone w/ XP and audigy could respond and tell me how they did it, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Your in luck. I am running XP and have an Audigy AND I am running an ASUS P4T-E. Ok Install your sound card drivers from the CD like you normally would, Go ahead and install ALL the software if you like. Than Install the XP Drivers you DL'd from creative. These Drivers are updates, and I'm not sure but I belive you HAVE to install the original drivers first anyway. This is How I did it, and have had Zero problems with my system.

Any other questiond please feel free to ask.

Let me know how it all goes.

thanks for the help! It is greatly appreciated. One more question though, what pci port did you install the card in? I have read some opinions on which port...some people say it matters, some say it doesn't.

Counting down the hours till I get off work (it's 8:56 and I get off at 3:00 )
