I'm about to pick up an 8k3a and had a few questions. I saw a couple reviews of the board and noticed that it didn't come with a chipset heatsink/fan. I know the thing can heat up (to what extent I don't know) but how important is it that I slap one on? My second question is: what is POST?

Thanks a bunch

If you plan to overclock it by any great deal, putting a 40mm fan on the Northbridge will help keep temps down. Make sure you have good case ventilation as well. You can have all the Northbridge fans in the world, but if there's no supply of cool air, then it's just pushing hot air about.........

POST is Power On Self Test, a test run by your BIOS everytime you start your PC.

How do you recognise something that is still technology?
A good clue is if it comes with a manual...
