Splitting AVI files

I got a few AVI files (divx compression) that i want to split in half, in order to make each AVI into 2 or more VCD's. I have the software to make the VCD's, (pinnacle express but i just need something to chop up the avi's.

Can't wait to try out pinnacle, lol.... :burn:

hey, try running a search for a proggie called "virtualdub," that's what i use . . . sorry, don't have a link, but that's what it's called. you just run the program, open whichever avi you want to split, and it lets you set the start and end of what you want to save, so you save the first half off, and then the second, if you follow . . . laters . . .

go and get TMPGenc. www.vcdhelp.com or virtualdub, which is really good too.

Tried virtualdub, looks like it works, but pinnacle always freezes burning at 89%. I'll try TMPGenc now....
