How high is to high?

How high is too high? On the +5v, +12v rails????

I can now adjust them internally in my PSU so I want to know the ceiling for this tweak!

Also, how low is too low? After steadying my +5v at around 4.95 and my +12 at 12.28 ~ 12.48v, my -12v get to -13v.

So is this too low or does it even matter?

Personally, if you are getting 4.95v under load on the 5v then I would leave it alone. I tried to set mine to hold 5v flat under load.

Well it can get down to 4.85 under load. and increasing the +5v rail gives me more power to the cpu. In the bios i have it set at 1.85, but in reality it only goes up to 1.81, and can drop slightly.

Any advice, also is -13 on the -12v rail too low?

Well I do know that all the lines have a low and high threshold, which, if exceeded will cause some damage. I think the +5v is something like 4.4~5.4 or something similar. I'm not exactly sure, but as long as you don't vary that much you'll be fine

Also, how do you set your lines?

On the oc'ing the computer starts getting a little odd around 4.7ish. I believe that a minimum of 4.7 or 4.75 is recommended. On the Antec 403(I know as I own one) and some others, there are set screw (pots) inside the psu. These are usually glued at a setting however a slight twist with a screw driver will break them free. On the Antec there is one that controls the 5v/12v and another that controls the 3v. This of course must be done with EXTREME care as there is the potential for death lurking within.

guess what?

I turned the VR-1 pod in the Dell PSU and what did I see in the bios?

I see:
12V @~12.9V
5V@ ~5.7V
-12V@ ~-13.1V
-5V@ ~-6V

Is it too high and too low? Nope in my opinion since everything is working.

I can. At 5.2v idle it do automatic shutdowns while in use. At anything over this the psu will not even power up. Backing it off cures it though. 5.16v idle is about the best I can do and still have stability across the board.

Remember that all is not lost if it powers down while setting it and be very careful if you do this while connected (your life may be on the line). Tape up the srew driver blade with electrical tape. If it powers off while setting it then turn the screw back a hair, wait for the psu to cool down and fire it back up. Settings as you know already are extremely sensitive to adjustment.
