HELP!!!! Whats happening?

HELP!!!! Whats happening?


I hope somebody can help me,

My 6 month old Ge-Force 2 GTS is giving me probs

At any time after the Windows splash screen the pc will freeze and blue/black/white lines appear verticaly on the screen

I have checked for viruii and also done a clean install(win2kpro)
and it still happens

Any help/ideas appreciated

You need to try another vid card, or better yet, try the suspect vid card in another comp.

yeah im currently running a tnt2 m64 Uggghhh!!!

Tried my card in dads mach but it didnt crash

My Machine:
AMD Atlon XP1600+ @ 1.4Ghz
Epox 8K7A+ (RAID)
300W AMD Recomended PSU
256Mb Hynix DDR
20Gb IBM Deskstar 7200 HDD
Sony 52x CD Rom
Acer 40x20x10 Burner
Iomega Zip 100( Not Plugged in or powerd up)
Win 2K SP2

Dads Machine:
AMD Duron 1Ghz
Gigabyte 7ZXE
128 mb Hynix PC-133 SDRAM
20Gb Seagate 7200 HDD
Sony 52x CdRom
Win 2K SP2
TNT2 M64
250W AMD Recomended PSU

Did it just happen recently out of nowhere or did you just download new drivers? The Video card isn't overclocked is it?

It first started happening when i clean installed my system with all latest drivers

the only different one from normal was the new nvidia 28.81

i havent installed any new hardware since my sound card 3 months ago

Have you tried booting to safe mode, removing all traces of the latest nvidia driver, then putting back your old(but working) drivers?

havent tried that but i thinks a clean install is just as godd

zero filled drive and reinstalled 2k with 23.11 drivers which have proved ok to me

So it worked out for you then? I suggested removing the new drivers because you said it the video problems started happening after you installed them. Booting into safe mode doesn't load those drivers but lets you remove them. Just for future reference could save you a lot of time.

Bah didnt quite work out

Im still running the TNT while my card has been sent back under w'tee to be replaced

Thanks for the ideas anyhow guys

I have that problem with my GF3, unfortunately, its been modded and OCd, so im out of warranty. Its probably a RAM problem...
