Arrow What is a good Cd-RW to get?????

I just got my state income tax check back and i have been wanting a cdrw for awhile now. what would be a good one to get that is relatively inexpensive? any specific brands? it will be mostly for making audio cd's and for backup purposes also.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have the Lite-on 32x12x40 right now, it is the best CD burner ive ever even seen.....
full ISO in 4min 10sec at 24x with crap CD-R's, under 4min with good CD-r's , and the quality is top notch oon every burned thing.

check out www.cdrlabs.com for a full review of it and many others.

oh, and newegg has a great deal on em, i got mine for 85$ retail with Nero, the latest version even.

I'm using a Plextor CDRW (24X10X40) with Nero.
It has Burn Proof Tech.
I've never had any single error during burning a CD.
And also not noisy at all.

do a search for "best CD-RW" or something, there was recently a thread that covered this quite well, with lots of good info.......

everyone should make better use of the search key,

*sigh*

I agree with Malakai, but for the record I have a lite-on 16x that thing kicks ass. It will burn anything. Some of the best moeny I have spent on my computer.

I've got a Traxdata CDR 4x (no rw!!)
It is still working, and never had a prob! (Doesn't have burnproff, too)
I'm going to get a new one: CD-ReWriter - PlexWriter 40/12/40A
This one also supports the new MountRainier! (with firmware upgrade [I asked plextor about that]). I know that is isn't of any use now, but for future it is a good thing to have!
I suggest you to get a plextor, teac/traxdata burner. If you don't want to spend too much money on it, then get one that is a bit slower. Investing in a good one is worth it!!

I think that malaki was reffering to my (or gilgamesh's) thread here: http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...ht=%2ARicoh%2A
I got the ricoh drive, and I like it a lot, although I didn't really burn a lot of CD-Rs but it does seem to be a really fast and reliable drive (knock on wood ), its a 24x10x40 and it writes a full 700 MBs from start to finish in 4m:28s (including finalizing the CD), and its also very cheap. I heard only good things about Lite-On too, but I couldn't get it for a cheap enough price here, where I live. I use the newest NERO burning ROM with this drive.

obviously everybody tells you something different so they are all good
Keep in mind, thta burning with 40x speed, will save you only a few seconds! so maybe you wanna go with a slower one, without needing to wait much more

I got the Lite-On 40x12x48, actually 2 of them, not sure if the deal was listed on this forum but Dell had it on sale and then added coupons, ended up paying 88$ for the first one, 80$ for the 2nd one with Nero included, now I can burn 2 cd's in about 3:12 from .iso gotta love technology, this was a replacement to my 8X burner, very happy!
