Is there an error message or error code. There's hundreds of reasons it could cause it. An exact error code and a quick google search would more than likely give you an answer, or at least ellimante some possibilities.

Don't install it while overclocked if you are. It may run completely stable after it's on there but installing it is a whole different story.

I have had that very same thought as Jon. I try installing while overclocked and the install pukes. Go back to normal specs and the install was fine. Windows is strange like that

Also make sure that you turn Plug and Play off in the BIOS, as this sometimes mess's 2K up.

ill try that red hot as far as overclocking i had turned it down to 150 fsb from 168 and after reading this i tried the stock 133fsb but i still get the blue screen heres a little better info

its when im in the installing devices section then after the screen flickers 3 times the bright blue screen says this

hardware malfunction
call your hardware vendor for support
the system has halted

no codes or error messages i may try and unplug one of my cd drives as well as take my modem out but i really think for some reason its my video card as it stops rite after the screen flickers or who knows maybe my monitor?? anyway thanks for the help ill keep you posted if theres any luck on my part

thanks all

Are you installing Win2k on a seperate partition? Do you already have your other OS installed before installing 2k? What other OS are you installing? Another 9x or something like *nix?
