P4 1.6 Northwood Temps - Are these ok?

Hi guys,

Gotta P4 Northwood 1.6 just wondering if these temps are ok? Btw got a Abit TH7-II Raid

All these temps are with CPU @ 1.85v (BIOS) and 1.73 - 1.8v (Actual) and taken using the hardware monitor prog that came on the motherboard cd

Idle @ 50-51 degrees celsius
Full Load @ 56-58 degrees celsius

Are these okish?

Thanks

Mine are about 39-41°C idle and 50-52°C at full load /w "in a box" fan. My 1.6(A) runs @ 2240 (FSB 140).

btw that is without any mod, 2.8 @ 1.85v (bios) and around 1.75-1.8v (Actual) - just using 7d bios of Mr N - no vid pin mod or anything

Thanks

lol not 7d bios of Mr N's - I mean 40b Bios
Can get it to post at 2960 but wont go into windows xp, just blue screens half way through loading
probs needs more volts but 1.75-1.8v actual is probably the tops to give this baby specially with the cpu temps

Thanks

Hi m8
Sorry for the late reply, got held up at work

I'm using 16bit RDRAM - 2 x 256 mb Samsung PC800 - a total of 512mb

The 40b bios - have had lots of probs with it - when turning computer on first thing in the morn, have to restart computer like 10 times before it posts - re flashed to the 7d bios and now running stable 2.65ghz @ 1.7 (1.65 actual)

The 40b bios is on Mr N's site - i'll find the link for ya in a min

Hi m8

http://www.n3dt.com/drivers/bios/abit/th7ii/

You can download 40b from there

Mind though even it goes to 1.85v quite a few ppl say it hasnt sorted the cold boot problem out - i agree with this because it caused horrid cold boots every morning i used it and had to restart 10 times before it worked
Now flashed back to 7D and everything is brilliant, no cold boots but only 1.7 v

Thanks cyberfed and CSHawkeye81 for those temps
What Heatsink and fan are you using CSHawkeye81?
I'm using 1.7 bios volts and 1.65 actual and getting 48 idle and 55 load using an Alpha P4 heatsink with delta 80mm fan
Your temps are v good especially since you are running at higher vcore

Jd - use Mr N's 7d bios with the extra dividers and you should be able to keep the sb live close to spec for example at 166fsb it would be in spec (Cant remember which divider to use!)

Thanks

1/5 th is the one for 166 fsb, also i have it and it runs great with mine no issues at all, if i do run into them i will just set the spec to 37.5 fsb for pci bus so it wont do it no more as i am at 40 fsb pci spec.
