No MSN Messager?

When I click on the MSN, nothing comes up.
I've tried reinstalling it twice but it doesn't work.
Is there anything to do which regedit?

Please help.

You didn't mention which OS you're using, but if it's XP...you could give this a try:

Uninstall Messenger completely by first closing down Messenger (if it's running) by right clicking the messenger icon in the notification area/system tray and click "close". Click the Start button | click Run | and type in (exactly as I've typed it):

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Click OK. Then download and execute the 4.5 installer:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/windowsmessenger/install/4.5/wxp/en-us/mmssetup.exe

Yes, I am using Windows XP Professional.
The uninstall worked but the problem is still there...
Anyway, I uninstalled MSN and installed Trillian instead. It works and show my MSN friends there. I think it would do since I can still keep in touch with them.

Thanks for your help. That command that types in the "run" is amazing! It uninstalled MSN without a trace!

or just rename teh Messenger folder in program files to MessengerOFF and it will never start again

Thanks for that tip on how to uninstall...I don't like messenger and the fact that it pops up everytime you reboot.

Now, I am through with it! Yes!

XP antispy also removes it for you along with other crap
