I unlocked my XP 1700+ but when I try to change multipliers in the 8k3a+ BIOS it either doesn't boot or goes to a different multiplier than I set. For example when I try 9 It boots at 7 and 8 will boot at 6. 10,10.5,11.5 12 and a few more will not boot. Do you think that updating the BIOS will be the solution? I already tried unlocking it twice and the same thing happened both times.
Help would be appreciated.

You have a bad unlock. No bios will fix this, you need to redo your unlock again. Sounds to me like the pits are not all the way filled.

Thanks for the help nikshub. I had way too much gap filler on the valleys before. I flattened it out and now everything is working fine!:D
