I just got around to installing a new distro I was wanting to try out.... Currently going by "Lycoris Linux" was previously Redmond linux..
I'm quite impressed, and I have to add this one to my list of Must-try's for anyone wanting to get a start in linux. The install was just as simple as Win2k's and it detected most of my hardware just fine (and I have some weird hardware). DHCP is working and was IMO just the same as Win2k's, I set up nothing and I have net/internet access. I haven't had time to poke around or any such. Haven't updated my kernel yet either, but that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Just wanted to let anyone who hasn't tried it yet know, Lycoris seems to be just as easy to get up and running as is windows (and the gui even looks kinda like WinXP..
Maybe this really IS Micro$oft's Linux
edit: Unfortunately, it starts with Mozilla (if you like it, fine), and it nearly drove me crazy, I suggest a quick download of Opera for a good internet experience
