Hi guys. I read all the reviews and I am still not too sure which fan and heatsink combo I should buy. I dont want to spend more than 35 dollars and I dont want anything too loud. I am going to be using this on a AMD Athlon XP 1900+ cpu. Please help me out guys, which cpu and heatsink combo should I buy. Thank you for any input.

ps. I do plan to overclock a fair amount

i have a 1900+ and i have a thermalright sk6 with a huge fan on it but you can just get it with a lower rpm sunon fan and it might be pretty nice

If you don't want loud, but still want maximum cooling performance, get the Millenium glaciator II from http://millennium-thermal.com/start.htm It has some pretty good performance and is quieter than most. If you check the heatsink performance rankings on the oc.com front page, you can see how it performs compared to other heatsinks.

Socket A cooling you ask?

"Two letters, one number", I reply.

A X 7

Its probably THE best Socket A cooler on the market right now. Its made by ThermalRight. I helped my friend install it and we lowered his temps 10 C over the stock HSF. Of course we also took his thermal gunk off and used AS3, but still, its an EXCELLENT choice, if not THE best one.

You can order it online from the Heatsink Factory for $25, here:

That is the bare HS and you'll need to pick out an 80mm fan to go with it. If you want the best performace, get a Delta, but they are loud.

I wouldnt say great but still good. Obviously not as good as say an 80CFM delta, but sufficiant. I would go with a 53CFM Megatronics, its only 39dbs.
