Are the GF4 mx's any good ??? what is the best of the mx range, r they worth buying ? clock/memory speeds ? and what card are the comparable to ?
Thanx :D

I wouldn´t buy a GeForce 4MX cuz they don´t support DirectX 8 - applications!

I´ll get a Ti4200 next week and it´s only a few bucks more for it! Here in Germany you would pay about 140 USD for a "GeForce4 MX460" (which is the best of the "MX-range") - compared to that you pay only about 160 USD for a Ti4200 !!

The geForce4 MX series (from what ive heard) is just a beefed up version of the geForce2 MX. Two of the major differences between the geForce2 MX and the geForce4 MX is the addition of a second vertex shader and faster core clock. I would definatly go with the geForce4 Ti4200 (which is the one im intending to get).

Let me just say this: GeForce4 MX = a bit faster GeForce2

That's why I'd recommend a Ti4200 (great overclocking potential) or if you are a bit tight on cash a GeForce3 Ti200 (great overclocking again). Both offer DirectX 8 and are good cards.

The geForce3 Ti200 is an exellent card, don't get me wrong, but it is still under the original geForce3.

The price of the geForce4 Ti4200 is about $170-190 for the 64MB version (500Mhz memory clock, 8 GB memory bandwidth) and $200-250 for the 128MB (444Mhz memory clock, 7.1GB bandwidth). This is a promising card because it is a true geForce4 card, not like the geForce4 MX.

The geForce3 Ti500 is also a great card, and is basically in the middle (closer to the geForce4 Ti4200 actually), but it has some great features.

According to the Madonion site:

Top Ti200 score: 12843
# of ti200's over 10000: 20

Top ti4200 score: 12590
# of ti4200's over 10000: 28

I'm not trying to say a Ti200 is better than a ti4200, and over time I'm sure we'll see 4200's in the 13K and maybe even 14K range, especially when the BGA versions come out. And I'm sure once more Ti4200's are sold there will be more than 28 over 10K. All I'm saying is if you're on a budget a Ti200 will more than suit your needs.

They do not have full support.... Meaning they support some and not others. Still I agree with everyone. Get the Ti4200 or a Geforce 3 card you will be much better off. You can pick up a Leadtek at newegg for 159.00.
