Some error when booting

Hey all

Just put a new computer together...

Detecting IDE Devices, it took about 5 hrs to get it to detect CDROM, but it does not want to detect my hard drive...

When it does...

Secondary Master: 1C3uLp44AVV0w-p ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' '

Secondary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed
secondary master hard disk fail

I tried two different IDE Cables, same thing?

(it took like 5 hrs before I got the CDROM to work, but hard drive just gave me this error at the same time, so I did something good )

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

40 gig 7200 IBM hard drive (67 at new egg)
Refurb epox 8kha
samsung 52x cdrom

Thanks velo

The cable is probably not the problem. Test the HDD with a different system.

Make sure that you have the jumpers set correctly - master for the HD, and slave for the CD-ROM.

Or, if those are the only two IDE devices in your system, you could give them each their own IDE channel.
