RAID defragment ISSUE's?

There is a question I havent seen discussed when I goto raid 0, 0+1, or 1 how do you defragment when you go raid. I'm sure my Nortons2k will be broken & not work anymore. Is defragmenting not needed anymore with raid? Also if defragmenting under raid is good to do what utilities work?

I would think that the windows defragmenter would work. Since windows sees it as one big drive it should work. and since all writes to the first set of hard drives happen on the second set I would think it should work. I have never used raid so I am just guessing.

You defrag the same, the system sees the array, be it raid0, raid1 or raid0+1, as one drive. Yes you still need to defrag a raid array. I like speed disk, I set it to defrag every night if fragmentation is above 1%. I think speed disk works better than the windoze version.

All disk utilities should run the same, after it goes through the RAID controller it will look/act/be one drive to everything else.
