Odd slot next to a socket 603

I've seen these on a couple other boards. I'm talking about the black slots that look sort of like ISA slots. What do they do?

probably some sort of modem or telephoney thing

ive seen them on some older boards but not a dual

thier are two of them.. one by each CPU....
Sever boards often tend to have voltage regualtors on a daughter board.....
Could be were you put your voltage regualator.

Yep. Look like VRM slots to me too.
