I was using a T252P Thermotek chiller and I recently got a hold of a 1048 eheim. I was curious so I hooked the ehiem up in tandem with the chiller's built in pump. The chiller pump is 50GPH. Not much but since the ater is 4C it compensates..

Holy cow! The two pumps were synergistic.. I swear the GPH must have been about 700!!

BIG PROBLEM though.. when you shut off one pump or the other, the water would come shooting out the the burp tube!

If you have an extra pump, try hooking them up tandem.. If yo cap the burp tube.. you will be amazed at how fast things go. It more than doubles the GPH for each pump.. There must me a suction, push thing going on.
