Why is this happening........


I have a client w/ a 21inch CTL monitor- 3yrs old- prety nice- DIED- still under the warrenty at that point- and now if you let it sit for 15 min with all poweroptions off- (the monitor) wont turn back on w/ out the computer being reset-help.......

Are you sure the refresh rate and screensizing are within the monitor's spec? I had a Mitsubishi that got funky when I deviated even a little from it's spec (and it didn't have much range to work with).
Any crud wedged into the pins of the video connector?

It could also be ACPI/APM-related. For awhile with my mobo, my monitor would never wake from suspend and the like without a restart. It turns out that I had incorrectly tweaked some BIOS settings after having installed the OS. (Win98SE at the time.) Oddly enough, the problem has never appeared with WinXP.

Its running 98se right now- and i havent check the bios yet- but it hasent done it now for a while........ i HOPE its fixed.........
