if you only have a PCI slot i would stongly recommend upgrading to a new mobo and cpu you can easily find a good ECS/Duron combo for less than 100$ and the overall performance boost will be more substantial....

but the Radeon7000/Ve has no hardware T&L making the MX420 the better choice, personally id get a K7S5A mobo and Duron 1GHZ and a Radeon 7200 32mb DDR all for under 150$
