Power supply question

Hi, my friend has a rather recent HP computer (P4) that he decided to move to a Koolance case due to heating problems in the old (very small) case. Anyway, upon opening the case, I discovered the he has a 150W power supply. Everything I've heard so far would indicate that this is very low, so I am afraid that with the extra strain due to running the pumps and fans, the power supply wont be able to take it. Keep in mind however, that the current system was running fine, and he did recently install a Geforce4 Ti4600 with no problems. Has anyone had any experience with a problem of this nature? Will 150W be enough? If not (which I suspect is the answer to my last question), what kind of power supply and wattage should he purchase to replace it? Also, he has an old 200W (I think) power supply from an older, and dead, computer. Is there anyway to use that supply to power the pumps and fans, while using the current one to power the system components? I dont think I can use that particular supply to power the system because the P4 requires some sort of special connector that older supplies dont have, am I correct in thinking that? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

BTW, I am kinda new at this, and I am probably leaving out some info, I tried to put in every nessecary, but Im sure I screwed something up. If I put this in wrong forum, my apolgies.

PS, Im kinda unsure on how the clamp goes on the cpu, the picture in the manual was rather unclear. If anyone has every done this before, I would appreciate a describition of how it fits on.(its the CPU-200)

Thanks!

That 150 will probably not be enogh. I am surprised that it worked at all. My guess is that it must put all 150 watts in the right place.

Anyway, you could use both psu's but I would suggest just getting one decent one.

Also, be careful. A lot of those HPs have proprietary sized hardware. That motherboard may not even be an normal ATX, so it may not fit in a standard case.

Im not 100% sure its 150W, it says on it something along the lines of: "Total Output: 150W" so I assumed 150W.

Im think that it will be easier to just buy a decent one, I guess around 350W or so. Thanks for the warning about the size, its really annoying when they make non-standard parts. If it doesnt fit, is there any way to adapt it, or will I have to get a new mobo?
Thanks for the replies.

I don't think you could really adapt it. I would just get a new mobo.

Also, I think that a good quality 350 would be a good choice.
