I want build a dual system using an Abit vp6 mobo. I' m hearing that intel has stopped producing the p3. That why they are becoming scarce. Is this true? The reason is if I buy 2 retail 1gig p3 cpus and have a 3 year warranty and let say 1 goes bad. How will intel replace it if they don't produce the cpu anymore? Trying to avoid headaches in advance.
Thanks

gkams,

Intel is responsible for having stocked enough processors so that they can serve the statistically expectable number of RMAsin the following years (warrantee period). I would not worry about that.

They have them in stock but they did stop producing them... the coppermines one at least.

Tualatin P3 and Celeron @ 1.5ghz will be out in a few months. That will be the last of the tualatin line.
