hmmm okay so i got my 1.8a at 2.7ghz (with 1.7 volts)... i just picked myself up an abit bd7II (sold off my th7ii to a friend who wanted me to make a comp for him... lol you believe it the th7ii and 128mb rdram i got 220 dollars for that!!! hahaha to tell you the truth he isn't really a friend more like an aquantince)... along with that i got myself some mushkin ddr 3200 (which i'm runing at stock speeds)

Right now the 1.8A is at 2.75 and i don't want to make it go over 1.85 volts in bios what do you think the chances of me getting it to 3ghz are? I'll try it when finals are over (GOD I HATE FINALS!!! BUT ON TUESDAY IT'LL ALL BE OVER, AND SUMMER BREAK WILL HAVE STARTED FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!) should also probably note that i got the Thermalright 478 heatsink with the newest vantec fan (you know the one that does 86cfm and 50dba of noise)

Zero. Just a few people have reached a stable 3 Ghz with any Northwood with air cooling. They are the most recent 2.26 Ghz CPUs. I hope that the new 2.2 Ghz NWs will also go to 3 Ghz.

dd!

You shoulda got a 1.6a witha alpha cooler and corsair ram!

Corsair rules, mushkin's for fools!

just kiddin' around....

you might have some overclocking left, but that's a pretty good overclock for a 1.8a!

nah i spent like 600 dollars on my system.. the least i'm going to shoot for is 2.8ghz... i';; just wait till the thermalright and vantec come in... (then we'll see what memory's for fools eh?) Oh and to answer your question ras on the other thread yea i do gots me one of those expensive aluminum cases (heck i even got an aluminum powersupply too!).... and my comps in the basement where the ambient temps are like 18 degrees celsius...
