i've heard that it transfers heat from the gpu to the memory.
and that the fans dont really do much, as there are 2 dead zones instead of one.

well, that makes sense, i bet it makes oc'ing the ram a lot harder. do you mean the dead zones are on the sides of the sink w/o fans? i'm sure the fans do something, tho the surface area of that sink seems lacking...fins would have been better.
