I've only done this under Win98SE.
1: Change you desktop background to "none"
2: Goto Appearance and under Item chose desktop
5: Change the color to whatever you want
4: Hit "Apply"
5: Now whatever background color you use will keep the text-background you chose

what I mean is, under proof nothing shows up?!?....

Do u have the newest version of opera?? My shows it fine.
