ntfs to fat32

i searched on the forums for about an hour on how to convert ntfs back to fat32 and my eyes are a bit tired now so i'm gonna cheat and ask you guys again. anyways, i tried using win2k to reformat but it said my 80 gig was too big to reformat and for some reason my 98 startup sees the 80 gig as a 12. any ideas guys and gals??

I've ran into a problem with a 60GB HD at work. Turned out to be that FAT32 has a size limitation. Probally 32GB??

Looks like your going to have to nuke the drive and partitions on the drive. Here at work we use a Wipe Disk utility. I am sure there is a microsoft utility (not that I would trust it) but I am sure there is one.

The W2K format doesn't format in FAT32 over 32GB by design. FDISK has problems with disks over 64GB where it will register only the amount over 64GB. I agree with Tactics. Start by clearing the partitions. If you want FAT32, create and format a 32GB partition for the OS and apps using the W2K install process, install, then use disk management to setup and format any additional partitions. Here's a link to the limitations of FAT32.

Partition Magic should be able to convert back to FAT32 from NTFS, but I haven't tried it. If you do try it, make sure to backup any critical files first.

For Windown 98 you need to go to microsoft site and get a new
version of fdisk, that is why it only sees 12 gig.
The newer version handles larger drives.
