I'd like to purchase a video card that would allow me to use my tv screen as a monitor (Tv out, right?). Any help finding a pretty cheap Video Card like this, that fits into a PCI slot, would be great! Thanks!

You don't want to use your tv as a monitor. I wanted to do the same thing a while back, I mean hey, a tv is much cheaper right? A tv doesn't have near the same resolution a computer screen has. Tv's would be fine for playing games, or watching movies, but regular windows and surfing the net would be impossible. You wouldn't be able to read any of the text. If you still want me to look for a card for you, I will, Just drop me a PM. You should find a lot of help in the forums.

Hehe, I actually wanted to get one for a project. I have an extra comps around (Only 166mhz), and was thinking about making it a Mame Machine :) (Mame is an Arcade Emulator, for those who don't know). Make some joysticks, etc., and hook it up to my tv . Sorry I didn't make that clear :(. But if you know of anywhere, that would be awesome! Just something inexpensive that can get the job done would be great :).

Btw, thanks for the welcome!

PS - That's why it needs to be PCI, the old mobo doesn't have an AGP slot :p.

MAME machine- extremely cool idea!! :D :D

There are plenty of PCI-based video cards out there, they are pretty cheap nowadays too since everyone mostly uses AGP.

A Voodoo3 PCI would probably be a good choice. Or, a non-gaming card devoted to VIVO instead of gaming speed would be a good idea too- try looking for a Matrox PCI card, they made a few that might fit your bill.

Check out these sites, see how these guys accomplished the same feat:

Awesome, thanks for all the info! Those links should come in handy :D. If anything comes of this project, I'll keep you guys updated (Pictures, info, etc.)! Until then...
