Running heatsink fan on a MoBo with no connector?

Hi,

I have a heatsink with fan that has three wires coming out of it - black, red, and blue. The problem is that my motherboard (old) does not have a connector for a fan. I am pretty sure I can modify it so that I can lug it directly to the power supply. I just want to find out which wire goes where.

Black is ground. Red is 12V which should connect to the yellow from the powersupply.

get a 4 pin plug adapter and connect the red n black wires to the adapters red n black it shoud be fine i do it all the time
