Forum Wars 2011 Winners: Overclockers.com

What better way to flex an overclocking-centric forum’s muscles than with a benchmarking competition! The Raptor Pit and its owner, Raymo, has just put to rest the 9th “Forum Wars” on March 5th. The competition started on February 1st and was a five-way fight between teams from The Raptor Pit, Overclock.net, Overclockers club, Neoseeker.com and (of course) Overclockers.com. Within each team are classes (A through G) that are divided using a handicap system based on the number of cores/threads on the CPU,  number of GPU’s and cooling type. Typically Forum Wars uses both 2D and 3D benchmarks which vary between each competition. This year, the benchmarks of choice were Geekbench and Wprime 32M for 2D and 3DMark06 and 3DMark Vantage for 3D. To round out the scoring, an overclocking bonus was available, based on the clock speed of the Wprime 32M run.

After all the dust settled on this year’s competition, Overclockers.com brought the crown back home to its rightful place! Last year our 5 year win streak was broken, but we have won this competition 6 out of the 9 years it has taken place. As well as taking first place overall, the team secured first place in classes A, B and E, second in C, D and G and third in class F. This is a very strong showing from our team, and clearly shows that they are at the top of their game. Special thanks go to Miahallen who organized the team and helped achieve this fantastic result. The full scores are available on the official website. However, it’s important to remember the enormous effort that benchmarkers go to in order to achieve these scores. A number of our members have posted pictures of the machines they have been using for Forum Wars and we’ve posted a few up here for your viewing pleasure. Congratulations again!

  1. Excellent, thank you. If we let them troll at their pleasure, they just look like sore losers and OCF still looks like the winners of Forum Wars. Let them kick and scream all they want. :)
Sorry guys, I just cant stand when someone accuses me or my team of cheating. Should have kept it to myself. Deleted the post on the bot.

Yes. Please don't go over there and feed the troll guys. Let him say his piece and crawl back in his hole. Starting any sort of flame war will just make OCF look bad, which is his ultimate goal. Remember - Don't Feed the Trolls!

Yeah, I commented to his trolling remark and went back to delete it, waste of energy engaging with him IMO

Did you guys see El Gappo's post at HWBot?... What's he referring to?

lmao what a joke. Well done to those who competed within the rules, you know who you are.

As long as OCF know they couldn't win it legitimately, that's all that counts

it is always neccessary to thanks those that do hard work for free, just for the betterment of a group of friends.

I will also thank you publicly, along with the others that helped in leading us to victory. without solid leadership, this win would have been very much more elusive.

Nice pics too. How did you do Torin?

Well, I got the second highest overclock percentage, but other than that, I was on a b-string team. My chip was just too old to compete well on the benches. (Got a 2.4Ghz Q6600 to 4.8Ghz.)
Congrats:beer: This is what this place is truly all about! Thanks for making OC #1 again!

I bow to you Overclocking geniuses:drool:
