Three Articles Worth Reading

Funeral Webcasts, 10 Websites to check out and a Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 comparison.

I usually start the day perusing the web and these three articles were particularly interesting and worth sharing:

Online funeral webcasts growing in popularity

I love the internet – it’s a transformational technology that is literally reshaping the way the world communicates and transacts business. Social networking through sites such as facebook are opening up new avenues of communication and instrumental in developing relationships which transcend time and distance.

Every once and a while something comes along that boggles my mind – funerals over the internet is one.

My mind wanders to other possibilities:

  • Weddings
  • Birth
  • Death
  • Surgery
  • Shoveling Snow

Who knows how far the inventive mind can go?

10 Web Sites That Will Matter in 2009

The Generation Gap: Windows on Multicore

A very nice comparison among three Windows OS’s – XP, Vista and 7 – using dual and quad core systems as test beds. It may not surprise our readers that once again XP, that aging OS that refuses to die, comes out ahead. Unfortunately missing from this comparison is the most popular Linux distro Ubuntu.

I’m anxiously awaiting AMD’s earning release which is scheduled after the Stock Market closes – 4 PM EST.
