Carbon Foam Waterblock

SUMMARY: Carbon foam has compelling characteristics for electronic cooling. Another interesting material we ran across that has tantalizing thermal properties is carbon foam. This material is a porous graphite that, similar to copper foam, comes in various densities (pore sizes).

Copper Foam Heatsink II

SUMMARY: Copper foam as a heatsink material continues to tantalize. I reported earlier on using a metallic copper foam material in a Copper Foam Heatsink. Test results were encouraging, especially considering the small footprint of the heatsink, for 1U applications.

The True Test . . .

For some reason, there’s been some great desire to compare dual-core processors lately. There’s a fairly poor one (spare me the Dick Clark pretending to be a teenager routine) here comparing Intel’s and AMD’s duallies, and a better one comparing
