A Chilling Idea?

On occasion, we have had articles on decidedly low-tech cooling solutions.

Here’s another.

This link describes an award-winning method for Nigerian farmers to keep fruits and vegetables refrigerated without a refrigerator.

Basically, you use a small and a big clay pot, put the small pot inside the big pot, and fill the space inbetween with wet sand, and cover with a wet cloth. When the water evaporates, it’s supposed to keep the content of the inner pot cold.

It’s an interesting concept that might be used in a computer cooling system in one form or another.

It may work, it may not, but it’s something somebody may want to experiment with and tell everyone else about.

At the least, it might be a way to keep your drinks cool. 🙂
