A Fishing Expedition . . .

I don’t know how useful or useless this is going to be, but hopefully it will be at least a start to something useful.

I have three questions, answer whatever applies:

Question 1:

Have you ever gamed against someone and found yourself outmatched, overwhelmed, etc., etc., etc. . . primarily because your
opponent had much better equipment than you, and you had good reason to believe that was the case?

Question 2:

Have you ever gamed against someone and outmatched, overwhelmed, etc., etc., etc. . . your opponent primarily because you had much better equipment
than your opponent, and you had good reason to believe that was the case?

Question 3:

Have you ever dramatically upgraded your equipment, and if so, how did it affect your level of gaming success?

I’m leaving this as open-ended as possible, so feel free to tell a long story, and if you want to answer a different question that I didn’t ask, but you think is relevant, go right ahead.

This is probably not going to end up being one of those polling-type questions, simply because
I’m sure we’ll get more than a few “It must have been the shoes,” type responses.

Rather, this is more a fishing expedition to gather initial information and impressions to hopefully ask better questions the next go-round.

The answer may be damnably difficult to get, but it’s an awfully good question for an awful lot of people.

You know where to find me.
