AMD Price “Cut”

AMD “cut” prices yesterday, but those of us around a while know they are three kinds of AMD price cuts.

There are AMD price cuts that actually cut prices at the time of the cuts, but those are very rare.

There are AMD price cuts that cut the official price, but not the real one, which haven’t been even close to the official price for quite some time.

Finally, there are AMD price cuts where the price actually gets cut a couple weeks before the announcement.

It looks like this price cut falls into category three. That’s what they’ve tended to do lately.

So when you hear a date for an AMD price cut, it is best to start checking about two weeks beforehand to see it kick in.

I would love to have someone, sometime, somewhere explain to me how this does AMD any real-world good.
