CES 2017: Corsair Shows off K95 RGB Platinum Keyboard and RGB Memory

Kicking off our 2017 CES coverage, we had a chance to stop by and see our friends at Corsair. They had a slew of different items from memory, M.2 and SSDs, Gaming keyboards/mice, power supplies and cases.

One of the first new items we talked about were their new DDR4 Vengeance RGB lit Memory. Corsair used LED’s in the past, but this time around, they used RGB LED’s and integrated their control into Corsair Link software. The RGB LED’s on the sticks are powered directly from the slot. One neat feature these sticks have are the ability to save your profile on the sticks. Meaning, once set, they can be used in a different machine (or the same machine) without the Corsair software, Look for these on store shelves late 1Q.

Next up we had a chance to see their new flagship keyboard in their K95 RGB Platinum. Its frame is made from aircraft-grade anodized brushed aluminium while the mechanical keys come in Cherry MX Red, or MX Brown. The keyboard includes its own internal storage (8MB) to store custom key assignments, RGB LED profiles (up to three), and any macros (total of six keys). Next up we Corsair announced the release of the new SCIMITAR PRO RGB gaming mouse. In looking at the PRO RGB it is the same design the original SCIMITAR with several improvements. The SCIMITAR PRO adds integrated profile storage, and a new sensor in the Pixart 16,000 DPI PMW3367. This sensors allows for extremely finite control of 1 DPI steps over 100 DPI for truly customized sensitivity. Corsair also is bringing back an old friend in the TX, TX-M, and HX power supply lines. These are all rated at 50C and use high quality Japanese capacitors. They also had a load tester on site showing nearly 1200W load on its HX1200 which was a site to see.
