CES 2023 – Asus Flaunts 540 Hz and OLED Monitors, Wi-Fi 7 Routers and More!

Up until the release of the Z97-Pro Gamer, ASUS didn’t have much to offer a budget-minded gamer looking to build a Z97 based system. That all changes with the release of this board, and ASUS now joins other manufacturers in this very competitive arena. What really spurred this market segment was the release of Intel’s G3258 Anniversary Edition processor and the potential to acquire a Z97 gaming motherboard and CPU for just over $200. That should leave most builders a substantial amount to invest in a high-end video card, which will ultimately result in a relatively low cost, but great performing gaming system.

In the Asus ballroom at the Venetian, we saw a lot of new items, from laptops and routers to monitors and, of course, Nvidia’s new RTX 5000 series graphics cards.

One of our next stops at the Bellagio is Phanteks, who had a slew of items to show off in the suite. One of the first things, and a major theme of CES 2023, are white builds. So they had an all-white build (Phanteks NV7) with their white D30-120 fans and blocks. They also showed off their Eclipse series chassis, 2nd-gen Glacier Series AIOs and water blocks, Polar Series air coolers, and finally, the Revolt SFX 850W Power supply.
