Joe started writing around 2010 for Overclockers.com covering the latest news and reviews that include video cards, motherboards, storage and processors. In 2018, he went ‘pro’ writing for Anandtech.com covering news and motherboards. Eventually, he landed at Tom’s Hardware where he wrote news, covered graphic card reviews, and currently writes motherboard reviews. If you can’t find him benchmarking and gathering data, Joe can be found working on his website (Overclockers.com), supporting his two kids in athletics, hanging out with his wife catching up on Game of Thrones, watching sports (Go Browns/Guardians/Cavs/Buckeyes!), or playing PUBG on PC.
Now, we have Corsair’s answer to the shortcomings of their original LCLC offering, which comes with a thicker radiator for more area to move heat from it and they have given this new solution a true push-pull dual fan setup for more airflow through the new, thicker radiator. For die-hard liquid cooling enthusiasts that need extra ports, EK Waterblocks just released the EK-Loop Connect. EK says the software interface will work with all major motherboard manufacturers and easily allows you to control RGB items.
In a recent press release, EKWB announced an all-new direct die cooling solution for Intel’s 12th and 13th-generation Core processors. Direct Die Cooling (DDC) requires the user to remove the Integrated Heat Sink (IHS) from the processor and then replace the Thermal Interface Material (TIM). The direct die cooler is then installed without the IHS and can significantly improve temperatures. EKWB’s DDC kits come with an EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB (Limited Edition or Nickel and Plexi) CPU water block, delidding tool, EK-Exact Mount and ILM replacement die guard, Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal, and two foams for preventing liquid metal spillage. Pricing is not as bad as you might think with the Nickel and Plexi kit coming in at just under $300 before tax and shipping. Pre-ordering has already begun and shipping is expected to start in mid-February 2023. For complete details and pricing, please read EKWB’s press release below.
