About three weeks ago, we asked folks if they planned to buy a computer over the next year, and if so, what.
What we found out was that while there was little interest in AM2 at the moment, there wasn’t any huge surge in Conroe interest. The most likely Conroe buyer was the person with . . . an old system, old as in Northwood/Athlon XP.
A lot has happened since then. On the one hand, it looks like Conroes with high-end air will overclock significantly above 3GHz, perhaps approaching 3.5GHz.
On the other hand, there’s going to be a lot of cheap CPUs out there the next six months.
Have the events of the last few weeks changed any minds?
That’s what we’d like to know today. We’d like to know what you think you’re going to do over the course of the next year, and whether you’ve changed your mind because of the events of the last few weeks (i.e., buy a Conroe because of the early numbers (provided they hold up, of course, or buy one of the now-cheap CPUs and maybe upgrade next year).
