Computer Store Sales Next Week

We’re going to see if we can’t make a habit of this. These prices are coming straight from ads, not rumors, hopes or prayers. 🙂

These sales don’t start until Sunday, but most of these places will give you a price reduction if a local competitor or themselves end up selling an item at a lower price within 14 days. In the case of Best Buy, if you buy from them, and someone beats it, they’ll add 10% to the price difference.

Before buying any of these items, you should check Deja to see what people think of it. Nor should you assume that every local store carries every brand, for instance, my local Best Buy does not carry the Epson line. Yours might, call first.

That being said:

CompUSA

Buy Of The Week

Epson Perfection 610U scanner: $49.97. Good points: Fast sharp accurate scans for someone who needs a scanner for casual use. Bad points: Discontinued, scanner software doesn’t let you do much with the picture. If you’re looking for a better scanner than $50 should get you, this is it.

Epson Stylus Photo 870 Inkjet Printer: $179.97.

(I don’t know how good this one is) HP 8X4X32 Internal CD-RW Drive plus a Rio 500 MP3 Player Plus 50 pack CD-Rs: $299.97.

Half-Life–Game of the Year Edition: &7.99.

Not really a whole lot else around:

Best Buy

100 Pack Imation CD-R: $39.99 ($10 mail-in rebate): Better than the $44.99 they’re charging this week, but the following might be better.

Office Max

50 Pack FujiFilm CD-R: $19.99 ($10 mail-in rebate): These might be a little better than some of the other deals, but check around first.
